Black Rock tag still standing

Toby sent me a picture today of the first knittag I put up in Oregon, and it's still there! Most of my knittags in Washington have been removed, for what reasons I do not know. But I'd like to think that zombies, pencil toppers, and rice milk where all involved in the various endeavors to remove the knittags. Buuut, most likely they were all mundane stories involving shaking fingers and/or fists or inclement weather.

Anywho, thanks to all the glorious people (and bikes) that head up to Black Rock who let my colorful knittag fulfill it's life long duty...to warm that post, and make it extra fancy...definitely the extra fancy bit.

It's a bit in shambles but, but bright and still loving on at wooden post:

P.S. Here's what it looked like when it was first mounted to the post:

Fremont Knittag

So I went up North to Seattle and left a knittag down by the pier-somewhat near the Pike Place market. But, alas, I do not have the pictures of it yet. So as soon as I get them, via Snail Mail, I will post them as well as the story. But until then, why not enjoy some one else's knittag. It's located in Fremont-a neighborhood in Seattle. My friend Chris Incognegro send it to me just this morning.

Enjoy,

Jellyfish

No knittags this week but I did create a jellyfish! Which will stay in the state of Washington... in an undisclosed location.
Hazzah!

Doffah finds a home in Oly

I'm in Olympia, Washington visiting my sister-for the second time in two weeks- after having a very...unsettling train experience. Silly frozen weather shut down Amtrak from Eugene to Canada. Although, I should be thankful that Amtrak decided not to cancel the Starlight-yet- otherwise I wouldn't have gotten any farther then Salem. That said, I only got as far as Portland on the train before I caught a glimpse of an opportunity to escape on inevitable insanity-so logically, I tried to escape-with success. Fives hours-for a one hour trip distance was just too much-I was done. Although driving on I-5 at night on compressed snow and ice with a California driver wasn't really any more calming then the train, but all long as there weren't cars directly around us it was...quite amusing.

Anywho, I was here about a week ago and with me had a knittag, Doffah, I wasn't too fond of. It was more of just a killing-my-anxiety project-more so than usual. After my sister expressed her feelings toward Doffah, I figured it was fitting to cast off and to leave her here in Olympia-where she could have a happy home, protecting possibly a tree lacking some girth to protect itself from the chilly weather.

I was in a bit of a hurry to find a good tree on her property-of which they were not lacking variety. Ehem, having a small devious side, my body begin to unwillingly gravitate toward the neighbors property. The neighbors don't realize this compelling small patch of trees I had my eyes on actually belongs to them....but I was aware of such information. And I suppose I was feeling a little awkward about placing a knittag in a completely welcomed area and decided it was just too unsettling for me. After an accelerated-yet keen-debate with myself I knew I found my tree; skinny, cold, and surrounded by other leafless eyes jealous of the relatively tiny sweater about to have a semi-permanent place in this world.

...and just in the Nick-of-Time. The snow is so deep here I can hide myself in it..uhh...not that that's hard since I'm so short and whatnot.

Thanks to Toby, and the series of events that occurred, Doffah now has a place she can call home.

Following are the before and after shots. Just think what might have happened to this poor tree if Doffah hadn't been there to protect if from the approaching storms.

And so it begins...a bit in the late but, eh, whatayahgondo.

Slowly and surely I will be covering more and more of poles, post, racks, rails and other smaller public formations (seeing as how I am fairly short and usually lacking a second pair of shoulders to climb on) with knittags. Doing this is just my way of bringing some color into the pubic eye. And a smile to someone's day.

Here are a few of the knittags that have gone up...and from what I've heard and seen, are still up:

Doubt many people will see this but if you are reading this and you're a bit more curious as to why I choose to display my knitting up for the world to see, send me an email.
